Billbergia pyramidalis
Botanical Name:- Billbergia pyramidalis

It is a popular house plant for its minimal maintenance. It prefers a warm and humid environment.
It looks like a small torch and a pyramid. The plant’s dense red flowers can last for about a month. Billbergia pyramidalis requires no care whatsover as a landscape plant. in heavy shade, the foliage will be a rich , dark green, while in sun the leaves are a bright yellow green.
They are cold- tolerant and usually only damaged if a heavy frost settles on the leaves. When planted in the ground, they quickly create large clumps, and when planted at the base of a tree, will slowly climb the trunk.
Features:-
Flower: Flower stalk emerges from the center of the rosette, comprised of small red flowers with purple tips. Bracts are bright red.
Plants can survive low light conditions for longer time than most of the other houseplants.
Soil: requires a well-drained soil, adaptable to a wide pH range. They can handle some direct sun but need at least half the day in shade.
Maintenance :- very easy to look after, occasional watering when dry.
It is really important not to overwater as the roots can start to rot though a light missing when its hot is good.
as with most Bromelliads they produce small plants off the side "pups" ,these can be removed and planted in pots whilst the roots develop.
